Biography
Joan has painted for most of her life, and gained a considerable reputation within the Berkshire, and Somerset Counties of' the U.K., where she lived, exhibiting and selling many paintings.
Joan is now living in Glos., within the U.K., and has taken an active interest in the Gloucestershire artistic environment, and once again is involved in exhibiting and selling her paintings within the West of England.-www.ismayarts.co.uk
She has exhibited and sold in "The Royal West of England Academy", "The Society of Women Artists", "The Society of Floral Painters", "The South West Academy of Fine Arts", "The Royal Bath and West", "The Bath Society of Artists", and, "The Somerset Art Week"-.www.somersetartweek.org.uk
Joan won "Artist of the year 2004" for both her portrait, and flower paintings with the S.A.A. (Society for all artists).-www.saa.co.uk
Joan's paintings were exhibited at "The Society of Women Artists" annual exhibition, 2007, plus, she has a licensing contract with a Fine Arts Company, and is a full member of the "Gloucestershire Society of Artists", the "Reading Guild of Artists", and the Society of Floral Painters(S.F.P.).-www.socfp.net
Joan was awarded the Society of Women Artist's Portrait Prize at the 2007 Annual Open Exhibition, held at The Mall Galleries, London.
Joan paints, mostly, in acrylics, and, as you can see by viewing the Web Gallery section of this Website, brings her own style, to either her flower, landscapes, still life, life sketches, and portraits, the latter two subjects being created using pastels
